How do I notify an employee of the increase in pay rate?
As the increase constitutes a change to the terms and conditions of employment, you should write to each employee individually to confirm that their hourly pay rate has been increased, what the new rate of pay is and when the new rate of pay will come into effect. For clarity and to prevent any misunderstandings, you should also confirm that all other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
How do I check the hourly rate from an annual, monthly or weekly wage?
Annual – Divide the annual salary by 52 weeks; divide the answer by the number of hours the individual works in a week. Monthly - multiply the monthly salary by 12 months; divide the answer by 52 weeks; divide that answer by the number of hours the individual works in a week. Weekly – divide the weekly salary by the number of hours the individual works in a week.
