What is a reasonable adjustment?
A reasonable adjustment may be a change in working practices and procedures, a change in the working environment or a change in the individual’s working pattern. To be reasonable it must be relatively easy to put into place and not cost a disproportionate amount of money to implement
What happens if I cannot make the suggested adjustment because it’s not practical or it’s too expensive?
Provided you can justify why you cannot make the adjustment you can refuse to make the adjustment BUT you must be able to demonstrate that you have looked into the feasibility and cost of the adjustment for example by asking an occupational health practitioner to review the working environment and practices.
